It all started November 1st, 2010. I was 29 years old and had reached 254lbs with 26% of body fat. Today, 1 year later, I’m 194lbs and 15.8% body fat and never felt stronger.I’ve always been pretty active, but also always loved partying and eating. So from 20 years old to 29 years old I had gained over 50lbs. I thought this was the way it was going to be. Each picture or video of myself would remind me of how much extra weight I had put on. I tried dieting and working out but the task of losing weight and getting in shape seemed impossible.I had heard of Ground Zero Fitness Bootcamp from my sister-in-law. Then my wife started attending a few classes every week. Seeing other people getting real results really triggered me off. So one Sunday morning, I headed to beach Bootcamp and met James. I had found the solution to my problem. I got hooked. The results became my source of motivation. Friends and family couldn’t believe it. I had lost 30lbs in my first 30 classes. I then moved up to the advanced class. A year later, I’m now 60lbs lighter.Trainers, Rod and James, made it all possible. They are friendly, professional, respectful, and very intense. - When I first started GZF Bootcamp I had never worked out a day in my life or done anything active for that matter. I was so out of shape I couldnt run for more than 30 seconds with out getting a cramp and had to stop cause I was so out of breath (not joking as sad as that is). I am the type of person that always paid for a gym membership every month and never went I had no idea what I was doing, I always felt like an ass and everyone was staring at me. My first day at boot camp I definitely almost passed out and threw up at the same time. My endurance slowly started to build and I found myself doing things I never would have imagined I could. I have been going for a year now and am completely obsessed with this program. Everybody in the class’s are very nice and friendly and everyone is there for 1 reason to workout which I like, You never feel uncomfortable. Rod and James are great motivaters and have helped me with my nutrition as well. During the Summer Slim Down I lost 8 lbs, 6% Body fat and 4 inches off my waist! - I have been a GZF member since July 2010. I joined because I was 8 months away from turning 30, I was going to be maid of honor in a November wedding, and was hell bent on getting in the best shape of my life. A high school friend posted on Facebook that she was going to bootcamp that night and I thought that would be a perfect way for me to get into shape. I have never been an athletic person and didn’t play sports as a kid. Since high school I had been a gym member several times but never saw results from working out. I never pushed myself and would stop reps as soon as they got painful. I LOVE bootcamp because working out with a group motivates me to strive harder and James and Rod are so motivating and positive. When we started the 90-day challenge in June I decided I would finally change my awful eating habits and try the diet. I was shocked when I lost 5 pounds in the first week. Since then I have become even more motivated to be in the best shape of my life and I am pushing myself harder than ever. When I started bootcamp I couldn’t run a quarter of a mile without walking part of the distance and getting a cramp. I thought I would never get any stronger or be able to move up to the advanced class. Now I am running several times per week and going to bootcamp 3-4 times a week. I never thought I would be one of those people who enjoys working out but truthfully, I really do! I look forward to continuing on this life-changing journey that has not only changed my body but has changed my mind too. Exercise CAN be fun and the reward of optimal physical fitness and constant goal satisfaction has been well worth my every sweating minute along the way! Jennifer Bedner
- I joined GZF Boot Camp’s New year Challenge on January 1st, 2011. I just love it, it is exceptional. In the first 4-5 weeks I lost about 15 pounds. I have more energy and stamina not only to do boot camp but also in my every day routines. In the beginning I used to push myself for 3 day a week, but now I can definitely feel I am getting stronger and can do boot camp 5-6 day a week. I am definitely seeing results all over, I have lost inches around my waist, arms and legs. I look and feel great, have lost couple dress sizes and can’t wait to shop for new clothes
Rod and James commitment, individual attention to each member, motivation and high energy is outstanding. I personally feel that GZF is one of the best and closest to having a personal trainer.Their nutritional plan really helped me to get on track and the tip “If you Fail to PLAN then you are PLANNING to Fail” has become slogan of my life for the past couple months. - I am a stay at home mom of two boys and parenting is my #1 priority. Besides getting in the best shape of your life, GZF Bootcamp has had a positive impact on my family. First, It is a great role model for my kids. They see mommy and daddy working hard and staying active and it motivates them to do the same. They see us making time in our busy schedule to take care of ourselves and makes it easier for them to do the same. Second, GZF bootcamp gives my husband and I more energy and strength so we can actually play on the monkey bars with our kids or put them in and out of there car seats with ease. - I started attending GZF Boot Camps in order to shed my excess weight once and for all before leaving for College. I tried many other things to lose weight, but honestly, nothing worked. I began with the Beginner Level Boot Camp and immediately became addicted to the fun atmosphere and energy of the trainers and the other members. After a few months, I moved up to the Advanced class. - Ground Zero is an incredible fitness program that has helped me become a collegiate athlete at a whole new level. It has helped me increase my physical strength, speed, and endurance. Allowing me to not only pass my intense fitness tests that many collegiate athletes undergo, but has also improved my agility, coordination, and flexibility. Since I canceled my gym membership & started GZF Boot Camp back in April 2011, I’ve noticed a tremendous difference in my arms, chest, stomach, back & legs! - I have been going to the gym for years and basically just doing the same thing….cardio, cardio and more cardio. I would attempt to lift weights but just wasn’t very motivated and ended up doing the same routine over and over again and not really seeing any results. My friend Jessica and I decided one day to try something new, we went to our first class at GZF with James and immediately we were hooked. On March 7, 2011, I weighed in at 264.3lbs. I wasn't healthy. I had no energy. My cholesterol was troubling and the total number was 230. Something had to change. I attended my first boot camp class in Delray with a friend of mine that day, and my life began to change. Nothing like a rude awakening to help you realize that you are in terrible shape and need help. Rod and James have been there for me during the whole process. From nutritional advice to exercises to do at home, they will get you to where you need to be. Today is July 30, 2011 and this morning I weighed in at 202lbs. Over 62lbs gone in 4 months. My cholesterol problem is resolved. My last totals were done in April and the total cholesterol was down to 136. My most recent blood pressure (taken May 20, 2011) was 121/69. I look better, I feel better, and I owe it to Ground Zero Fitness. My results came from committing to what Rod and James are saying. Make it a zero excuses day. Eat well, work hard, and see results. I started GZF Boot Camp a few years ago and then took a year break to have my second child. Once I started again in Jan 2011, I have seen amazing results beyond losing some pounds. I am getting more toned, lowered by body fat percentage, and have a higher energy level. The trainers take a personal vested interest in keeping you motivated and you can’t find that anywhere! Not only are their regular Boot Camp classes amazing, but I have also become addicted to their Guerrilla Zone Training on Saturdays – AMAZING! - My story is probably very typical to most middle-aged men. I had become overweight, tired and bloated after gaining more than 30 pounds over a several year period. My goal was simple. I am 39 years old and will celebrate two very important milestones in my life in 2011; My 40th Birthday and 10th Anniversary. It was very important to me to stop dreaming about being in the best shape of my life at 40 and start doing. Once I was introduced to GZ Fitness I knew that I had found what I was looking for. I started attending sessions twice weekly and over the first 6 weeks of training I lost 10lbs, 3 inches on my waist and went from 26.9% bodyfat to 22.5% bodyfat (almost 20%). That’s just in the first 6 weeks!!! I honestly cannot believe the physical and mental transformation that I am undergoing. - “In the past I have trained for marathons and triathlons and had great trainers that taught me about the sports. I am not new to an athletic lifestyle but I’ve never been a fan of gym workouts and unfortunately I always overlooked the importance of strength training.
